WURLITZER CALIOLA RESTORATION (Part 18)
 CRANK AND KEYBOARD INSTALLATION

In PHOTO A, the crank shaft bearing blocks, mounting board for the speed control and the brace for the vacuum pump have been installed in the case.


PHOTO B shows the refinished crankshaft installed along with the pump sticks for the pressure pump.



Next we installed the pump sticks for the vacuum pump which is mounted on the underside of the top of the Caliola case. PHOTO C.



We can now install the finished keyboard unit along with vacuum reservoir. There is not enough room between the top of the roll frame and the bottom of the vacuum pump to have the reservoir in the usual position on the bottom of the vacuum pump so Wurlitzer mounted the reservoir on the side of the case. PHOTO D.



PHOTO E shows the under side of the keyboard and the valve stack which was previously installed. The rubber hoses connecting the keyboard to the stack are installed.
